John Paul Diego
President, Managing Partner
In 2015, John Paul Diego joined the development team at The Residential Group and has assisted in the development of The Crest at Laurelwood, Woodstock, GA; One Metrocenter, Nashville, GA; The Crest at Laurel Canyon, Canton, GA; and District at Duluth, Duluth, GA. Previously, John Paul managed a portfolio of 2,400+ multifamily units for Wesley Apartment Homes in Atlanta, GA serving as Regional Manager. During his time at Wesley Apartment Homes, John Paul led all Fire Safety and Code Enforcement efforts across 18 different multifamily properties.
Prior to transitioning to the multifamily sector, John Paul served as Program Coordinator for The German Marshall Fund in Washington DC. As Program Coordinator for the Transatlantic Leadership Initiates Team, John Paul was responsible for organizing and coordinating the Marshall Memorial Fellowship Program; an international leadership development, networking, and convening effort designed to promote inter-sector cooperation and business development. John Paul Diego holds a CAPs certification from the National Apartment Association, as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and a Masters of International Affairs with a concentration in Conflict Resolution and Leadership Development. He is married with three sons.
Executive Vice President, Partner
Jamin Harkness was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to joining The Management Group, LLC, he worked for private and public (REIT) management companies in various rolls with direct oversight of Conventional, Tax Credit and Section 8 Based Communities.
Most recently, Jamin served as Vice President at Atlanta-based Avila/Wesley Apartment Homes, and served as Vice President of Operations for 18 properties totaling 8,000 units. Previously, he worked with Fifteen Asset Management as Senior Vice President, overseeing 18,000 total units in 13 cities spanning nine states. Jamin has also worked with Equity Residential (REIT) as Southeast Marketing Director.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications and has a MBA from Kennesaw State University. He has completed post graduate work and holds CAM and CAPS designations from the National Apartment Association. He has completed multiple OSHA Certifications.
Jamin is an active mentor, educator and fundraiser with Junior Diabetes Research Foundation. He is married with one son.
Vice President, Commercial Operations
Brian Gomez was born in Memphis, TN and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. As the Vice President of commercial operations, he is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial and industrial properties. Additionally, Brian oversees the development and construction of industrial assets and commercial renovation projects. Brian’s best ability is effectively communicating with everyone he works with making him a true asset to all of his clients. He has been working in the property management field for 8 years. Brian joined The Management Group in 2015. He is a graduate of Oglethorpe University with a degree in business management.
Head of Legal and Insurance
Elena Vagner joined The Management Group as a Head of Legal & Insurance in 2016. She is responsible for all asset risk management. Elena works closely with insurance agents, carriers, attorneys and properties to insure timely resolutions of legal and insurance claims as well as loss prevention and monitoring.
Ms. Vagner has been working in multifamily construction and real estate development for over seven years; at different stages of her career she has been involved in both accounting and risk management aspects of the industry. With a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance from Georgia State University, and CRIS certification from International Risk Management Institute, Elena Vagner is currently working towards her Paralegal Certification from Emory University.
Outside of work, she enjoys figure skating and spending time with her husband and two children.
Marketing and Training Manager
Brooke joined The Management Group in 2017 working on site as a Marketing Specialist at District at Duluth. As Marketing and Training Manager she is responsible for oversight of all marketing and training activities; and general new property marketing and set up. Prior to joining The Management Group, she worked for Greystar. During her time with Greystar she was a leasing professional at The Flats at Ponce City Market and Station R. Brooke is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio.
She has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing Management and Supply Chain Management from the University of Memphis. She was a member of the Nationally Ranked Dance Team and was a Phi Mu Fraternity member. Outside of work Brooke is currently an Atlanta Falcons Cheerleader. She enjoys traveling, working out and maintaining a vegan lifestyle.
